A a census worker came to my home this summer,?
she had a little computer she was fiddling with, then she asked me a few questions, then she looked my house up and down and wrote some more things on her little computer. What the hell was that all about, is she putting me in some data base, for OBAMA?
This happened to me, too. The lady that came to my house didn't even come to my door....I just happened to see a stranger in my backyard talking to my kids! She flashed a badge that she had hanging around her neck...had some hologram on it....looked official. She badgered me about things like "are you certain no one is living out there?"...she was referring to a pole barn! uh, yeah...pretty sure no one is living in my barn, lady! She questioned me about my RV, my garage, my barn and the fact that I have a large house..."are you certain this is only a single family household?" She was out of line. I have since heard that ACORN is doing a lot of footwork for the census next year using gps units. I don't know how true that is but I do know that this lady was acutely aware of my discomfort with her being in my yard and she just evaded it by pressing on with ignorant questions. She argued with me about my address even! Several months before I received a letter from the USPS stating that my address had been changed from a rural route to a street #. This lady in my yard told me to my face that she knew for a certainty that my town was not yet changing addresses for the enhanced 911 system. I had to tell her I could go inside and get the letter to prove to her that my address had indeed changed but she declined. It was a bizarre encounter that I will not forget....too much of her behavior was questionable at best.
